2026 Programme Highlights
Our upcoming programme explores themes of community-making and the ways choreography can shift our perceptions of beauty in both people and place, expanding notions of who dance is for. Here's what's coming up in 2026...
WORLD PREMIERE | SING ME YOUR SONG
BY DAVID BOLGER
Watch out for tickets going on sale for SING ME YOUR SONG, the world premiere of David Bolger's latest work for the stage coming to Project Arts Centre this winter. An associated Broadreach community project will begin this summer.
COISCÉIM CINEMATHEQUE & IMMA HORIZONS
But first, catch free outdoor screenings of dance films BREAKIN' BROTHERS and IFTA-nominated DEEP END DANCE directed by Conor Horgan on Living Canvas, Europe’s largest outdoor screen located on the grounds of the Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA) this month. These screenings are part of CoisCéim Cinematheque and our ongoing collaborations with IMMA Horizons, a programming strand specifically showcasing work developed through local communities as well as Arts and Health partnerships which began with the MOVING SIGNATURES slow art pilot project led by Jonathan Mitchell with Curator Sundara O'Higgins. To find out about what has taken place so far, see Jonathan Mitchell's reflections and short films here.
DUBLIN DANCE FESTIVAL
In May, we are part of the 2026 edition of the Dublin Dance Festival with the Irish Premiere of renowned Italian choreographer Silvia Gribaudi’s A CORPO LIBERO in Virtual Reality and dance workshop for teens on 10 May.
THE BENCH COLLECTION
We are thrilled to announce Simone O’Toole as the final choreographer of the BENCH collection. Save the Dates for BENCH #7, the last commission in this unique series - coming to Dublin City Centre from 14-16 July as part of a double-bill of lunchtime performances with BENCH #1 by Jessie Thompson. Commissioned in 2025, Mufutau Yusuf's BENCH #5 PROSES ON NEITHER HERE NOR THERE will also return to Dublin for one day only on 18 July as part of a day-long celebration of the project's completion. Visit our BENCH collection pages to find out about other national and international presentations of these distinctive works, and to explore the short films by Neil O'Driscoll and Luca Truffarelli.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Long-time CoisCéim Dance Theatre collaborator and celebrated multi-disciplinary artist Luca Truffarelli will lead a masterclass in collaboration with Jessie Thompson at The Studio at CoisCéim on 18 July. SHARED PERSPECTIVES is a focused professional development opportunity for dance artists working across all styles. Emerging from CoisCéim’s commitment to artist-centred practice, this in-studio workshop explores the poetic dialogue between movement and camera, inviting participants into a process of shared perception, embodied listening, and creative exchange.
Participants are invited to attend the outdoor performance of BENCH #5 at George’s Dock by Mufutau Yusuf in advance of the studio session.
Makers working with movement, choreography, or physical performance are invited to apply for this year's Irish Theatre Institute (ITI) Offsite @ CoisCéim. This is the 16th year of our partnership offering a series of short-term residencies in our ATRIUM studio in Dublin. These residencies are a chance to explore, experiment, and develop new ideas in a creative space.
BROADREACH: Dance with us
THE CHOREOGRAPHY PROJECT #23 led by Mateusz Szczerek kicked off this week and will culminate in a free public sharing on Sunday 7 June at a location in Dublin to be announced.
THE WEDNESDAY CLASS for older people continues with drop-in classes throughout the year in the city centre - guest teachers so far in 2026 include David Bolger, Alex O'Neill, Donking Rongavilla and Simone O’Toole.
BROADREACH: MOVING SIGNATURES will continue with new slow-art and dance opportunities at IMMA this autumn. Every body is invited to join this slow journey from the spontaneous to the considered with full details to be announced at the end of the summer.
