Simone O'Toole

Simone is an Irish Contemporary Dance Artist based in Dublin. After her training in Fontys Dance Academy, The Netherlands. Simone worked with Dutch/Brazilian choreographer Guilhermo Miotto and on returning to Ireland She has worked with Catherine Young, John Scott, Fibin Teo and PanPan Theatre. Simone has been an Associate Artist with Irish Modern Dance Theatre and has participated in an IRIS Award with Irish Modern Dance Theatre, Merce Cunningham Trust and Irish Arts Centre in New York. 

Simone is the Contemporary Dance Coordinator at Dublin's newest full time training facility TAAFFE TRAINING as well as teaching as part of CIRCULAR (Circus Training Course) in Shawbrook. Her choreography has been seen in Dancer from the Dances Festival, with PANPAN Theatre in Mespil in the Dark at The Samuel Beckett Theatre in September 2022. Simone choreographed the theater show from Fibin sa Taibhearc WALTSÁIL ABHAILE in Galway and is movement director for The Abbey Theatre's new show VISIONS coming October 2026. She co-choreographed for Alessandra Azeviche’s solo work TERRA which was performed as part of Dublin Fringe Festival 2024. Simone is a recipient of the arts council bursary award 2023. She has worked with dance artist Matt Szczerek on their duet SHELL as part of Backstage Theatre Longford's Activate Residency which will also be performed as part of WHAT NEXT festival 2027. Simone has toured with Catherine Young Dance Company’s new production CISEACH from May 2024/2026 and FLOATING ON A DEAD SEA from September 2024. Simone was a recipient of the Activate Residency 2025. In 2025, as part of the Perform Europe collaboration, PERFORMING MEMORY, Simone contextualised and localised Sasha Kurmaz’s “Untitled” for an Irish audience, in a groundbreaking participation project with performances as part of Culture Night and Dublin Fringe Festival. Simone will choreograph a solo work as part of CoisCéim's BENCH Collection in July 2026.
