Ella Clarke
Ella Clarke is a choreographer, movement director, lecturer, and researcher working across contemporary dance, dance education and actor training. A graduate of the Perm State Choreographic Institute, Russia, she has performed and choreographed internationally since 1987 for theatre, opera, film, and dance. Her movement direction includes award-winning productions for the Abbey Theatre, Gate Theatre, Wexford Festival Opera, Barnstorm Theatre Company, Siren Productions and Loose Canon Theatre Company, and performances with leading Irish and international dance companies. She has lectured at TU Dublin Conservatoire of Drama since 2001. Ella holds an MA in Ethnochoreology from the University of Limerick and a PhD from Trinity College Dublin, where her research examined movement direction and choreography in Abbey Theatre productions since 1924.
