Stefano Callovi

Stefano Callovi is a Dublin based Italian performer, theatre maker and drama facilitator. A graduate of the Gaiety School of Acting, his work revolves around themes of privilege, memory and identity. He is especially interested in raising questions about the contradictions of Western democracies, addressing human rights issues locally and globally and using theatre in community contexts as a tool to foster equality, peace and sustainability.
His first original theatre production SHOW ME YOUR MACARENA - a movement-based dark comedy created within the collective Straight Out The Box - had its debut at Milan Fringe Festival 2025. More recently he has worked as Assistant Director in the multi-disciplinary project THE CONFERENCE OF BIRDS created by Andrea Scott with the Elders.
Thanks to support from the Pavilion Theatre through the Pulse Award, Stefano is in the process of writing his first full-length play: a surrealist odyssey about immigrants, seagulls and chippers.
