Monica Gillette
Monica Gillette (US/DE) is a dance dramaturg and former professional dancer. In 2024 she and Gwen Hsin-Yi Chang were appointed Co-Artistic Directors of Germany’s first Tanztriennale, taking place in Hamburg in June 2026. She has accompanied several European funded projects, such as Migrant Bodies - Moving Borders, Empowering Dance, Dancing Museums - The Democracy of Beings, Dance Well and Aerowaves’ Moving Borders Project. Monica has also been a dramaturg and transformation coach at Tanzhaus Zürich and researcher for EDN - European Dance Development Network, resulting in the 2024 publication, Practices of Care and Wellbeing in Contemporary Dance: Evidence from the Field. From 2022-2024 she had the great pleasure to accompany Choreography Connects, the predecessor project to Expanded Habitats.
