Ellen Cranitch
Ellen Cranitch is a musician, composer and broadcaster with Rough Magic Theatre and RTE. She has practiced as a flautist with the National Symphony Orchestra and the RTE Concert Orchestra among numerous others. A presenter and producer for ‘Grace Notes’ with RTE Lyric FM, she has also written scores for television and radio documentaries. As composer-in-residence at the CCI, she is undertaking an adaptation of the opera Hippolyte and Aricie in conjunction with Rough Magic. The collaboration seeks to re-imagine the Baroque opera through traditional Irish music.
