Despina Sanida Crezia
Despina Sanida Crezia (1998) is a performance artist from Athens. They
studied at the State School of Dance (GR), the History and Archaeology
Department of the NKUA (GR), and did their master’s degree at the Dutch
Art Institute (NL)(2024-2026). Their practice focuses on the politics of
embodiment, queerness, effort and labor, internet, music and youth culture,
and choreopolitics. In 2023, their piece DOWN TO UNDER premiered at the
MIR Festival (Athens) and was later presented in Brussels (Pas si fragile!,
2024), Paris (PERFORMISSIMA, 2024), Madrid (Festival Domingo, 2025), Loulé (Verão Azul, 2025), and Rimini (Supernova, 2025). They participated in Art Athina 2025 with their piece SUCH A CRYBABY. Their performance OFF, OFF commissioned by the DESTE Foundation and the New Museum, was presented in 2025 and in 2026 in the frame of the Arc For Dance Festival in Athens and the Dance Dance Dance Festival in Faro. They are a Live Works Fellow (2026-2027) at Centrale Fies.
