CoisCÉim welcomes the appointment of Artistic Director to AosdÀna
CoisCéim welcomes the appointment of our Artistic Director David Bolger to Aosdána. This is a very special appointment as it marks the first election of choreographers to Aosdána.
We are also delighted that at the same meeting, fellow choreographer Cindy Cummings was also elected. Cindy was a member of CoisCéim when she performed in "Toupees and Snare Drums" at the Peacock Theatre and on tour in 1998. She has created a highly successful body of work both in Ireland and internationally.
These appointments are a welcome recognition of choreography as an art form by David's and Cindy's peer artists. This is an exciting step for the dance community and we hope it will be hugely beneficial to choreographers in the future.
